Investigation into incident in Blackwater

Three people arrested in connection with report of a serious sexual assault in Blackwater have been released with no further action.

A 15-year-old girl reported that sometime between 6pm and 7.30pm on Monday, November 12, she was assaulted in a wooded area near Darby Green Road.

It is believed that the victim knew the alleged offenders.

Three people were arrested in connection with this incident - a 16-year-old boy, an 18-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man. They have all been released with no further action.

Detective Inspector Darren Barrett said: "I would like to reassure the local community that this allegation was investigated thoroughly, as with any incident reported to police.

"It is not believed there is any wider risk to members of the public in the Blackwater area and I would like to thank the community for their help and information in relation to this incident.

"I continue to keep an open mind about this allegation and if anyone has any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me."
